A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO...

...for allowing Kiba Kiba Books and www.londonfrogs.com to make use of their elementary school Global Water Supply Curriculum. Aligned with national standards, the lesson plans and mini-units include elementary, middle and high school levels. Funding for their global water supply curriculum project was provided by the Open Square Foundation. Stand-alone lesson plans are part of larger units that cover a broad scope of subjects including English, science and technology, and social sciences like geography, civics and economics. Classroom activities cover everything from poetry seminars and vocabulary-building worksheets to science and math lessons about potable water availability.

I hope that you will integrate these lessons plans into a creative story/song writing workshop around the children's book "The London Frogs." In this workshop, each student will get a chance to write their own story/song inside "The London Frogs Companion Songbook" to go along with the illustrations inside. After students write their story/song (and answer the question "How would you save the waters of the world?") it is my hope that English teachers will work collaboratively with music teachers and media/technology teachers to record each student's story/song for this blog. These lesson plans will make it easy for you to educate your students about the world's water crisis while at the same time giving them a creative writing/music project!
